Defective iPhone 17– Demand for Immediate Resolution- Vodacom Contract
Dear Apple South Africa / Apple Authorised Representatives,
I am writing to formally escalate a complaint regarding a defective iPhone 17 supp**** under contract with Vodacom.
The device was confirmed as defective from the outset and acknowledged as an Out of Box Failure. Despite this, I am being asked to submit the device for repeated investigations, which I reject outright. This is unreasonable and contrary to Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, which does not require repeated inspections where a defect arises within six months.
I place the following on record:
The device was defective from start of the contract 11 December 2025
I have incurred repeated travel, time loss, and inconvenience
All data on the device was wiped, resulting in irreversible loss
I was billed for a premium Apple device while issued with a non-equivalent loan device
I have exercised my legal right to reject the goods. My position is final:
I refuse any further technical assessments
I reject the device
I demand immediate cancellation/replacement without penalties or delays
If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will escalate it to the National Consumer Commission and ICASA, including full documentation of the inconvenience and non-compliance experienced.
I expect written confirmation of final resolution, not further delays.
