Blatant ******ion

So we purchased an iPhone 6s Plus recently, the screen got cracked and we did not have Apple Care. I took the phone in to iStore to see if Apple could repair the phone and to my amazement, the staff at iStore said if we don't have Apple Care, they can't do any repair and they would have to quote us for a brand new phone?! This is a R16 000 phone that was JUST purchased and iStore expect us to fork out R16 000 because they cannot render services provided by Apple in other countries.

This has left me really disappointed with Apple in SA where as iStore in other countries have the services we require as can be found here:

https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/screen-damage

This is absolute ******ion at it's worst, you really cannot expect customers to buy a brand new phone just for the sake of a screen repair; and I will not trust other repair providers like iFix etc as the parts they supply are of the poorest quality and definitely not up to standard that you will expect from an Apple device - I am speaking from previous experience here.

I fail to see how I could be wrong here as Apple in the US even do repairs to device that do not have Apple Care.

Apple, you need to do something about this! I will not be putting cheap B-grade knock off parts in my phone.

Regards,

Seriously unhappy and disappointed customer.
