Apple Watch

I purchased an Apple Watch in June 2016 at a cost of R9 999. About 6 months later the watch face popped open and it was sent in for repair. It was confirmed this was a defect and the unit was replaced with a new one and, in fact, a later model. Fast forward another couple of years and the exact same problem occurs with the replacement unit! Once again the watch goes into the iStore for repair, where the Assistant who dealt with us confirmed that this is a common problem with the Series I and II watches and expressed confidence that the watch would again be replaced. Imagine our surprise and indignation when a quote for R3 000 was provided to rectify the situation, as the watch was now out of warranty (by 2 months)?! When we queried this with Core, the approved Apple Repair Agents, their response was "Please note that we have to follow Apple's procedures, the unit is out of 3 year program, hence the quote is issued.". This is simply not acceptable, particularly in light of experiencing exactly the same issue with 2 Apple Watches! I am a loyal and avid Apple Customer and between my husband and I we own 2 Apple Watches, 2 sets of AirPods, 2 MacBooks, 1 iPad and 2 iPhones. Are we really Customers you want to anger by walking away from your responsibilities in terms of product support?! Shame on you Apple!!
