Apple Menlyn Not Interested in Helping

Booked to take my ipad 7 in to have its screen replaced, they informed me that they don't replace screens, they replace the whole device (ie. I must give them my perfectly working yet cracked device and pay full price for a new one). It was broken before the insurance was signed off, so I have to pay cash for repairs (and don't mind doing so!)

But apple menlyn was uninterested in helping me, and wasted my time letting come all the way from work to see them.
