Apple Macbook Pro Screen Coating Fault

In 2015, I purchased a new 15" Apple i7 Radeon 2GB Graphics and 512GB ultra-fast SSD, Retina top of the range Macbook Pro. At the time it was R48,000.

I have been an avid fan of Apple OSX since leaving my position as Chief Technology Officer at MWEB and have converted hundreds of my clients to OSX. I did this because I had trust in the brand. I liked the fact that the Hardware and OSX were singularly compatible as they were designed for each other by Apple.

There is nothing wrong with OSX but the hardware has underlying faults that Apple choose to ignore.

I have purchased 3 power supplies for the MBP as the low voltage power cable breaks by the white brick. This has also happened to many of my clients.

The biggest design fault is the anti-glare coating on the 2015 model. It comes away from the glass. Many thousands of people have experienced this and it occurs around 18 months of usage. Apple responded with a recall of the MBP and I took mine to Digicape in Cape Town, I was very happy that the problem had been resolved.... until 18 months later and the coating on the new screen from Apple started to show the same problems. The reply from Apple was that the screen was replaced once and I wasnt entitled to have it replaced again. I have been trying to find a solution for the past year. Finally Digicape says that Apple will not change the screen as the computer is over 3 years old!!! Over the years, my clients and I have spent well over R4 million on Apple products not counting the high insurance fees that go with the high costs.

Apple have become arrogant and do not care about their loyal customer base. This will lead to their downfall as history shows us when brands get too big for their boots.

The support and care from Dell is unbelievable and for the same spec you will pay half the price. Microsoft Windows 10 with the latest update is better than a kick in the teeth from Apple. My clients will follow my recommendation as I hear the same story from many Apple users.
