Subject: Apple iStore Serious Concerns Regarding Recent Customer Service Experience
Dear iStore Customer Service,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the customer service I received at your iStore location in The Glenn Mall on September 18, 2023. My experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned about the standards of service at your establishment.
On this particular visit, I sought assistance for a recurring issue with my Apple ID password, which I had previously encountered twice. During both prior instances, the iStore team had been able to reset my password without any additional charges or complications. However, my experience on September 18th was drastically different and troubling.
Firstly, I was informed that I would need to wait for an hour due to the technicians being busy, or alternatively, I could provide my name and number to be added to a system for an SMS notification when it was my turn. Given my responsibilities as a business person, waiting for an hour was not a feasible option. I opted for the SMS notification system and returned promptly when notified.
At no point during this process was I informed that there would be a charge of R300 for hardware-related services. I was under the impression that this visit would be handled in a manner similar to my previous experiences, without any additional charges. I was even led to reset my Apple ID password without any mention of this fee.
It was only when my phone was connected for a reset that I was suddenly informed of the R300 charge. This revelation was both surprising and disappointing. I expressed my dissatisfaction and questioned why I had not been informed of this charge earlier, especially as there were no notices in the store indicating such a fee.
I was further dismayed when the iStore team admitted that they had previously waived this charge as "favors" to select customers. This revelation raises concerns about the consistency and ethics of your service standards, as it implies that previous procedures were not consistently followed or adhered to.
To add to my frustration, a previous client of mine, a medical doctor whose name I will not disclose, was present behind me in the queue. This situation was embarrassing and unprofessional, to say the least.
Ultimately, after speaking with the manager, it was suggested that I attempt to erase my phone using iTunes. Unfortunately, despite following these instructions, my phone remains unresponsive, and the issue remains unresolved.
I must emphasize that I have never encountered such poor service at any iStore location before. My phone is still non-functional, I had to cancel meetings to attend the store, and I am left feeling extremely frustrated by the entire experience.
At this point, a simple apology will not suffice. I am seeking a resolution to this matter and an assurance that steps will be taken to address the inconsistencies and lapses in your service standards. As a long-time customer, I expected better from your establishment.
I eagerly await your response and a plan of action to rectify this situation. Please understand that I am not only speaking on my behalf but also expressing my concerns on behalf of other potential customers who may encounter similar issues.
Sincerely,
Sherilee Louis Director of DrMedibilling
