Apple IPhone 6 jack chip

I bought an Apple Iphone 6 by upgrading my Vodacom contract on 3 August 2015 and when I tried using the earphone jack the jack chipped on the outside edge and now the earphones don't fit in the jack due to the chip on the edge. I noticed that there have been many complaints on the Internet about this happening with the Iphone 6. Vodacom say that their hands are tied and there is no way of getting in touch with Apple South Africa.
