Apple IPad

I have to say I am disappointed in Apple. Over the past 8 years I have purchased 5 IPad. The IPad I purchased 8 years ago is still working, the IPad I purchased 5 years ago is still working, and the IPad I purchased last year is still working. The IPad I purchased 2 years ago has stopped working. Went to my local I store yesterday only to be told the mother board has blown and that I have to pay R5500.00 to replace the IPad. Surely if I have not done anything wrong this is a factory fault?
