Apple compatibility with printers

My perfectly good printer stopped working after Apple updated my MacBook software. I have previously bought 2 printers that wouldn't work with my MacBook so I spent almost a week trying to find a printer that would work with the update 11.2.2. isomer sent a message giving me 2 -yes only 2 - printers that would work. I ordered one then today I get a message saying only 1 would work and guess what it isn't the one I had ordered. How do apple get away with updating their software without consideration of how accessories such as printers will work with the new system. Buyers of Apple beware.
