Apple and Vodacom not honoring warranty

My daughters new iPhone fell and the screan cracked, 4 months later the phone died. When I took it in to be fixed, they told me the warranty was void due to cracked screen that might have caused the phone to die 5 months later. This just an excuse to sell new phone.
