Apple and I Store Sandton Drive
Apple Faulty Computers and I Store Sandton. I have bought several Apple products including computers, watches and I Pads. I recently had a problem with the keyboard which is acknowledged by Apple “In the years since Apple launched its butterfly keyboard on the 12-inch MacBook in 2015, customers have reported various issues — some involving keys that register twice when tapped once, keys that feel stuck, or keys that don't work at all. The issue was brought to light again in March after The Wall Street Journal published a column about the problem, which prompted an apology from Apple. Apple has said it's aware that a small number of users are having issues with the third-generation butterfly keyboard, which can be found on products such as the 2018 MacBook Pro and the new MacBook Air. The company has also determined that a small percentage of first- and second-generation butterfly keyboards may have similar problems. These keyboards can be found on devices such as the 12-inch MacBook and the MacBook Pros Apple launched in 2016 and 2017. The newest laptop models fall under Apple's warranty service, while issues with older versions can be addressed through the company's Keyboard Service Program. If you're experiencing any issues with your keyboard, you should contact Apple Support and take your laptop to an Apple Store to be assessed. Depending on the situation, Apple may need to replace individual keys or the entire keyboard. The exact cause behind these issues is unclear, but they could be the result of dirt or debris getting underneath the keyboard.” I contacted the call centre on the Wednesday, 01 July 2020 at 09:49 to arrange to meet one of the I Store Sandton Drive’s repair on Date: 2020-07-02. I duly met with the technician and the manager and asked for a loan computer that I could use while mine was being repaired. I was informed that they did not have one available but I would be contacted as soon as one was available. I contacted Apple on 2020/07/09 4:36 PM and informed them that I had not received any feedback. I received some feedback on the Friday, 10 July 2020 at 08:33 apologising for the delay. STILL NO ACTION. I contacted them again on the 2020/07/18 9:55 AM informing them I still had not received any feedback. I received an e mail on Monday, 27 July 2020 at 12:16 apologising for the delay and asked if I had been contacted by I Store Sandton. I had been contacted and was informed that they did not have a loan computer. They would contact me as soon as one became available.
I receive no call no feedback and eventually contact them again on 2020/09/01 12:07 PM. I get a response on the 02 September 2020 at 16:44 asking me if I had been contacted by I Store Sandton Drive. I was contacted and told the following.
“There is a spare computer at the I Store in Sandton City and that I must drive to the store but the spare computer WILL NOT BE KEPT FOR ME and if another consumer arrived before me asking for a loan computer it would be first come first serve. GREAT SERVICE LOGIC AND ADVICE. Well done I Store Sandton Drive. ALMOST TWO MONTHS HAS PASSED AND APPLE CANNNOT FIND A SPARE COMPUTER OR SOLVE MY PROBLEM.
2020/09/15 1:06 PM I send another mail informing Apple that nothing has happened. I get a response asking if someone has contacted me. I receive a phone call and after a discussion I am informed that as I do not have an I Care contract they will not give me a loan computer and that the computer was bought in the USA and there is no warrantee. This is despite this published report. The newest laptop models fall under Apple's warranty service, while issues with older versions can be addressed through the company's Keyboard Service Program.
To summarise it is almost three months that I have waited to get an acknowledged Apple fault repaired and nothing has happened. I Store Sandton Drive clearly have no idea of customer service or the value of the brand.
I would advise Apple consumers not to expect anything from I Store Sandton they are not interested. I will also be sending this to Apple HQ and lets see if they respond. Apologies for the long message but feel it essential to advise Apple consumers of the lack of support from Apple and I Store Sandton Drive. Will keep you posted on the lack of progress.
