A total reap off by Apple and their Authorised Repairers

I bought a new iphone SE 32gig in October for R4000, i had a problem with the screen it was popping out and it started to show grey vertical lines and the the touch was not responsive, i took it to Istore in Sandton city and they booked it to be assessed to an authorised repairer. they charging me R4508.76 for repair, Labour R251.09 with vat included it totalled to R5473.83

The Retail price has been R4000 for some time and it hardly goes up to that price. Apple recommends us to take our devices to authorised repairers of their choice but they are reaping us off. Does this make sense?

Its not like I'm buying a new phone
