Anta Boga may not be the best option for a hotel in Bloemfontein.

Overall, the hotel is nice, but saying that it is a 5 star takes away from that. For a 3 or 4 start hotel, it is quiet lovely, but it is not a very good 5 star hotel.

Let me make this brief... There are no elevators, entry is complicated, some of the rooms (my mother and I's) do not have borders in between the bathroom and bedroom, so it is... awkward (we would actually have to step out of the room to use the bathroom because the toilet is like two metres from the bed), and there was no buffet which I was looking forward to.

The main problem was the open bathroom to the bedroom. This was a huge problem in the end. The bed and headboard are up against a wall barrier that was about as tall as my chestbones (I am 165m tall) between the bathroom and the room. I have seen hotels with bathrooms that are open to the room but have either a glass barrier or sliding door, but this had no door. If you stand on the bed, you can see a person using the toilet, so I would constantly have to ask my husband to step out and he did the same with me because going number 2 in front of your partner is awkwaaard. The rooms were small which did not really help, and there was no underfloor heating which is more of a gripe to me than anything else.

Finally, the hotel was not in a great area. There were many beggars on Stapleberg st, so it did not exactly feel safe to walk around outside alone. The school and student housing are also pretty much all around you which does not make it feel very... optimal for locaction.

There were quite a few positives such as the water pressure, the AC, and the room was really very pretty (just about 5 stars), but there were way too many negatives and small details that took away from the experience, some of which I have not even mentioned but cannot describe in one review such as how the **** rocks in the shower peel when you direct hot water onto them. It used to be better than it is, so I write this with a heavy heart and hope that they can outlast the crumbling infrastructure surrounding it.
