Puppy ****: ANIM Express

On November 30, 2024, I contacted https://www.whiskersandwaggingtails.co.za/ about adopting a Jack Russell Terrier and was informed of a puppy costing R3000, plus R1000 for delivery. After discussing my location and receiving photos of the puppy Hazel, I paid R4000 to Shari Coetzee’s account and sent proof of payment. On December 3, I was told delivery was scheduled but was unexpectedly invoiced R8280 by a delivery agency, ANIM EXPRESS, for a temperature-controlled crate rental, with R8000 refundable. I paid this amount but was later asked to pay R12,580 for a Temporal Travel Insurance License, also claiming partial refund eligibility. They further stated that if the amount is not paid within 24hrs that the puppy would be quarantined, and I could face up to 1 month in jail. Realizing this was suspicious, I attempted to cancel the transaction and request refunds from both parties. Despite numerous follow-ups, I have not received any refund, and communication with ANIM Express and Shari Coetzee has been minimal or ignored.
