Unacceptable business practices
Don't rent from Angor. They are trying to find reasons not to refund your deposit. To paint a two bedroom townhouse I received a quote for R5,217 and they recon it will take 40 litres of Universal Paint, also the maintenance person they are using are clearly overcharging the Owners and Tenants. To replace an inside door the quote was R3000 for a door that costs at Builders R500.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have investigated and can confirm that this property requires a fair amount of restoration. After comparing the entry and exit inspection reports, we found that the following maintenance is required:
- New grass to be laid due to damages caused by your dog
- The shower to be cleaned as it was left very dirty
- The unit requires a general clean as it was left dirty
- Making good and repainting the walls in the unit which was painted fairly recently (approximately 7 months ago)
- Broken shower drain cover to be replaced
- Bedroom door, which you attempted to repair and painted a different colour to the other doors, to be replaced
- Damaged stove plates to be restored
The quote to restore the property far exceeds your deposit. The landlord has kindly agreed to cover the cost of all the other items and he is therefore only recovering the cost of prepping and re-painting the walls. Regarding the quantity of paint, the unit was fully painted in December 2017 and the contractor confirmed that he used 40L of paint and primer.
