Poor, Pathetic, Dishonest and Unsatisfying Service

Will try and keep as short as possible. Mid November 2016 i bought a 2nd hand vehicle for my son from Anglo Car dealers in Benoni (Shiraz). There were marks on the car and Shiraz said he would have it taken off, which he did. Monday 14th Shiraz phoned to confirm that vehicle will go for service on Tuesday (15th) and we could take delivery on Wednesday (16th). Which we did. Monday 18th I emailed Shiraz mentioning to him that the bonnet cannot open when pulling the cable and also asked the question... how could the car been serviced if bonnet can't open. On the 21st Nov emailed again re the cable also no spline socket to take of wheels and again re the service of the vehicle. Shiraz responded to say that he ordered the cable and await stock and he will get us a spline tool, but NOTHING re the service of the car. We eventually bought our own spline tool. My husband was very concerned as we could not get to the engine to check oil and water level of the vehicle.

On the 01/12 emailed again re cable as well as the 02/12. On the 6th he phoned my son stating that cable has arrived and to be there on Saturday morning 10th to have it fitted. On arrival Saturday morning Shiraz told my son that there was no cable and that the mechanic forgot to order it. Could he not have checked before going all the way there ?? Then on Monday morning 13th Shiraz phoned my son to say that cable is there and he had to be there at 3pm for fitting. My son went and told Shiraz that the handle and spring of the cable is in the car and Shiraz said he will inform mechanic of that which did not even bother fitting the handle back to the bonnet cable. I told my son to be present when replacing the cable but the dealer said it was not allowed... I wonder why !!! My son asked the mechanic... how did you open the bonnet and the mechanic rep****...... I wrapped the cable a few times around a plier and pulled hard. (I thought handle was broken but was not) and again on the 14th emailed Shiraz as we STILL CAN'T OPEN bonnet. When my son phoned same day Shiraz told my son that if he can't get there that afternoon he will only be able to help in the new year. I have asked on numerous occasions how could the car been serviced if bonnet could not open but not ONCE has Shiraz responded to this, yet he only rep**** on the 14th stating that the cable handle was not broken when we took delivery. I did not respond to his email and left all for the new year.

In the interim my husband purchased an oil filter and oil as we all knew that car was NEVER serviced and wanted to it. On the 24th they then struggled to open bonnet. Eventually they did what the mechanic did and they managed to open bonnet. To NO SURPRISE the oil was filthy and pitch black and so was oil filter. They drained the old oil and replaced with new oil plus a new oil filter. My son took various pictures to prove to Shiraz that this car was NEVER serviced as promised. And what else did we see........It WAS NOT A NEW bonnet cable as we thought Shiraz had ordered but a 2nd hand/used / ceized cable, and also was not even fitted properly as it was lying alongside the engine and not even clipped out of the way. Also took pictures of the cable.

There was another little incident which i was unhappy about...... the dealer charge a "on the Road fees" but we had to go to Langlaagte to obtain new license disc as they are situated in Benoni and told me that they do not do it. We had to do it and we will get a refund from them. My son went and after standing a long que the gentleman at licensing dept told him that the car was not roadworthy, therefore he cannot issue new license disc. When i asked Shiraz via phone told me that he would quickly check and get back to me. After about 5 min Shiraz did call back and said that the car DID go through RW but it was never released on the system !!!!! How can that be after 3 weeks taking delivery of the vehcile. I made them go stand in the que at Langlaagte to obtain disc which they did and we finally got license disc.

I emailed all of the above to Shiraz yesterday 3rd Jan @ 11:00 am (copying 2 others) demanding to send their mechanic to me as i will not take off work again to go there with his tools and new parts to do a proper service on this vehicle, and a new bonnet cable and my money back for oil filter and oil and also the spline tool i purchased.

Another question put to Shiraz as i am not certain.... if a vehcile go through roadworthy.... do they not open the bonnet to check for oil leaks or things and or to verify engine/vin numbers. How did they open it at the roadworthy station ???

I also asked for Directors contact number and email address as i would like to forward same email to them but no responses from anyone yet.

I am totally and utterly shocked and disappointed re all of this and the poor, pathetic, dishonest and unsatisfying service i received as customer.
