Food poisoning

Good day all,

I would like to issue a warning regarding Angelique's Seafood Restaurant (Sable Hills Waterfront Estate). Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning after dining there. Despite notifying the manager and confronting the chef about the taste of the food, they dismissed my concerns with laughter.

In light of this, I’d like to remind everyone of the Consumer Protection Act, introduced by the Department of Trade and Industry in 2008. This Act provides consumers with the right to claim compensation for damages, including food poisoning, from suppliers. According to Section 61, consumers are entitled to sue suppliers and manufacturers of goods (including food) for any damages or injuries caused by their products, regardless of negligence.

The Act also holds that multiple parties may be jointly and severally liable. This means that a consumer can sue any one party, and that party can then seek contribution from others if necessary.

Liability extends to product failures, defects, hazards, or even inadequate warnings related to the goods. It is enough to show that the harm was caused, even partially, by these shortcomings.
