Andy's Boiler and Burner - "****ty" service

I work in Supply Chain Management and had the unfortunate chance of dealing with this company who "pride themselves" in excellence in regards to sewage removals etc.

Someone from this company called me on a Friday stating that they would come out to our premises to do the work. As always I told them to sign in at security and report to me before commencing any work.

They were dispatched as a colleague reportedly experienced a blocked sewer on our premises and at the end of the day the company still didn't pitch up to do the work.

Yesterday (two weeks later) a guy showed up at our office with a job-card for 3 manholes his company supposedly unblocked on our premises. I was taken aback as I had no knowledge that they even arrived to do the work. When I told the guy this and asked him when and where they did the work, he very sarcastically rep****, "if we didn't do the work you'd still be knee deep in your own ****."

At first I thought the guy just had a very crude sense of humor and dismissed the comment and again calmy asked him who he reported to and when they did the job as i had now knowledge of them coming out to do the job.

The guy then very quickly got aggetated and defensive, saying; "this is not the first time someone pretends not to know we did the job. Maybe if yoou got off your ass and walk with suppliers instead of sitting in your office you will know what's going on."

At this point I told him to keep quiet as he was being crude, rude and repugnant and that I would not allow him to speak to me like that. I then told him in a raised voice that he was being unprofessional and I will not sign off his job-card.

He then said, "where the hell do you think I got your name from? How can you be the contact person but not know that we did the job?"

I told him once again that they had to report to me on the day BECAUSE I am the contact person and that I would no longer entertain his nonsense. I told him that he has our number and should ask his manager to call us and then I walked away.

As I walked away, he screamed at me, "typical. Now you're probably done working for the day? Next time you can sit in your own ****."

The next day his manager phoned asking why I refused to sign the job card. Not surprisingly, he didn't know about the incident and though he vowed to take disciplinary action against the guy in question, I told him that we are a big company and I will make sure that none of our other offices ever make use of them.

Totally disgusted by the crude mannerism of this man. I guess you are what you work with...
