Cat-fished: Worst Experience Ever - Health Hazard & forget a refund!
Andaluz "Boutique" Hotel in Overport , Durban needs to be seriously classified as a gross misrepresentation of the online adverti*****ts in comparison to being there in person and should actually be labelled as a health hazard.
With clever photography, they manage to make the hotel look attractive with a decent rates, however, once you get there, the condition tells a different story.
The hotel rooms are utterly disgusting, from being ****roach infested in the cupboards and around staircases, to dirty clogged showers that don't work but spit out the water as well as urine stained bedding with signs of pubic hair embedded in the sheets. Upon closer inspection, the bedding also seems to be very old and are very tatty and torn.
The TV's do not work, they are merely there for display purposes, it does switch on, but that is the extent of your viewing experience.
The walls are damp , cracked & poorly repaired (if you can call those repairs) and are made from plaster board, you are able to hear the next rooms occupants breathing - that is how thin the walls are.
I ended up paying R 5,500 for 3 night stay from the 18/04/2019 to 21/04/2019, and left within the first hour of being there due to the health risk I would of put my family through, had we stayed there. I pleaded with the staff at reception as to whether I could receive a refund, even if they charged me for the first night that I would not be staying and just refund the balance of the stay.
We were then met with a refusal and and total lack of understanding or empathy towards a paying guest. They stand by their "Terms & Conditions" but refused to let me show them what was wrong with the rooms and refused to refund me in any way.
Parking is also a less than stellar experience as there are staff reside on the premises at the back of the building, in a duplex which looks old and dilapidated, they throw out their dirt and dirty water from their dwelling onto the walkways of the parking . Their garbage bins are left wide open which leaves a foul stench in the air and was the final straw of making the decision to leave.
To date, I have not had any contact from any of the managers from Andaluz to try and resolve this matter and it proves that they don't have an ounce of courtesy when it comes to the comfort and concern of their patrons.
Frankly, I am amazed to have found good reviews on trip adviser. I honestly feel as though, those are paid testimonials.
