Refund on failed service.
My name is Zameka Jojo from Vanderbijlpark Gauteng, I recently had a terrible experience with Amtec Service Centre (Pty) Ltd who are based at C/O Newton & Schonland Streets Duncanville Vereeniging Gauteng. I took my Toyota Quantum in for an engine overhaul, and I was charged R 63 250.00 whereby they told me to pay R 55 000.05, and the remaining balance of R 8 249.95 would be paid in two separate payments of R 4 125.00 on the 15/01/2026 and the last payment would be R 4 124.95 on the 15/02/2026. I went to fetch my car on the 15/12/2025 and on my arrival I noticed that the car has an oil leak when I pointed out the oil leak, I was told that the leak is not from the engine but rather from the gearbox and that I should drive the car and bring it back on the 19/12/2025 for a checkup so I did use the car until said date. When I arrived on the 19th of December 2025, I was told that I would have to pay an additional R 1 600.00 for an engine service, because I use the car for business purposes I went ahead and paid the R 1 600.00, and I collected the car on the 20th of December 2025. On the 22nd of December 2025 I took a trip and the car just died on me which I had to hire a tow truck that cost me R 13 000.00 at the time I got back to their service station they were closed for December break so I took the car to my place and when they reopened in January 2026, I paid another tow truck to take the car to them. On my arrival I was told that the engine block was the problem, and in actual fact they told me that they would take the block to the engineers when they were doing the engine overhaul. I don’t want them to work on my car anymore because when I brought the car there it was functioning and now it’s non-functional, and when I asked to be refunded, they told me point blank that they will never give me back my money no matter who I might involve they fear no one. I need my car and my money back so I can find another mechanic to fix my car we are not on good terms with them, and I don’t trust them anymore. Could I please get assistance on this matter please how do I resolve this type of problem? PLEASE HELP ME TO GET MY MONEY BACK FROM THOSE PEOPLE.
