Wedding ring is to big and paid R1091

My husband went to Alberton mall to buy my wedding ring he wanted to surprise me so he took one of my rings with him for size not knowing left and right is not the same I got married with the rings that was small for my finger anyway we go back on the day we got married to see if we can exchange but the ladies said they need to send it away to make it big and we had to pay R1091 I waited 5 days for the ring went to get it its big for my finger now question is are the sales ladies trained to assist with the fitting of the rings or they just there to take our money.
