Scratched bands

I am very disappointed in the service I am currently receiving from American Swiss Vangate Mall....on Dec the 30th I purchased 2 x silver enhancers for R999....a nice lady helped me....when I got home I realised the rings were silver and the engagement ring was white gold which will not work for us....so yesterday I take it back to Vangate Mall and was told they cannot take the ring back due to scratches on the ring....I am looking at the ring and can definitely not see the scratches they talked about....i mentioned my my concern is also that I dont want to wait too long to return the item to which I was told I have 6 months to return stock...that is definitely the first time I hear about such a policy at American Swiss(not a new customer)...my word had to stand here as I said I did not wear this item....it was bought for a wedding in April...did Canal Walk being such a big store sell me junk(2nd hand stuff) with scratches...why would they not accept my return and force me to go back to Canal Walk to take the item back....is American Swiss with its many branches not 1 company anymore!!!! I would like some answers
