REVOLTING AFTER SALES SERVICE.
Four months after my mum bought me a ring from American Swiss in the east rand mall, I had to send it for repairs. It was advertised as "gold" and sterling silver. The "gold" changed colour and pieces of the ring started falling off. When the ring was repaired I was told I had to bring my mums card with me to be able to collect the ring (incorrect information) . Problem is, I live in Benoni where the ring was bought and my mum lives in Cape Town. The ring stayed in the store for 2 years until my mum came to Benoni for a holliday. I took her to the store to get the half repaired ring. Within weeks the same thing happened. The"repaired" piece fell off again and this time the stones started falling off as well. After doing a write up on Hello Peter, I was contacted by the Sihle (I think she is the store manager) and she asked me to come in to the store to sort this out. I didn't want to repair the ring again because I was so despondent by the less than mediocre quality. Now it turns out that she can't credit my mums account without my now terminally ill 71 year old mother being present in the store to sign for the credit note. What stone is American Swiss trading under? In this day and age can't my mother sign for a credit note in a store in Cape Town? Who is going to pay for transport for a terminally ill senior citizen to travel 1400km just to sign for a credit note. THIS IS ****ING OUTRAGEOUS TO SAY THE LEAST!!! . The cost of the trip will exceed the amount of the credit note by far. This doesn't even make any sense. I said to Sihle I don't want the ring repaired and I can't get my mum to her store to sign for a credit note. With a smug grin on her face she politely told me there was nothing she could do to help me. REALLY? REALLY? SO THAT'S IT? So American Swiss gets to keep my dying mum's money and I get the keep this piece of **** that has no value to me. Is this the value of American Swiss' after sales customer service? Is this your company values? Do you expect customers to buy from you again after being tossed aside like a garbage bag? Is there no dignity in being an American Swiss customer? Is there no integrity in dealing with yourll? It seems like the value of your customers equates to the value of your mediocre quality jewelery.
