Review: American Swiss – Pavilion Mall

I visited the American Swiss store at Pavilion Mall with my fiancé to look for a wedding band for him. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

When we arrived, a lady greeted us and took us to the display where the men’s rings were. We asked to try on a ring, but once it was on, I didn’t like how it looked. I continued browsing and asked if they had any thicker bands available. The sales assistant responded that they only had what was displayed in front of that window.

While I continued looking, the sales lady abruptly said “excuse” in a very rude manner. I tried to ignore it and allowed her to put the ring back. After that, she walked away and left us to continue browsing on our own. When we thanked her and said goodbye as we were leaving, she responded with a rude “hmm” and walked into the back room.

I later asked for her name, but the rest of the staff acted as though they didn’t know who had been assisting us. Eventually, we were given the name Mbulelo, although we are still unsure if this was correct.

Searching for a wedding band is meant to be a special and meaningful experience. Not every ring will be “the one,” but we never expected to be treated with such disrespect and poor customer service from a store like American Swiss, especially at Pavilion Mall. This experience has left a very negative impression.
