Non disclosure of conditions for purchase of Birthday Gift

<p>My husband purchased a pair of diamond earrings from American Swiss for my birthday. The sales lady made him purchase a gift card and then the earrings. However the sales lady did not advise him that the earrings could not be returned should I not like them. My husband contacted the store the next day to enquire if we could change the earrings and was told that they would need to check with the head office. It is now a week later and we have not heard from either the store or head office. And we are sitting with a purchase of almost R2000 that is unwanted. Surely the sales lady could have advised him to rather purchase a gift card if the earrings were unable to be returned. </p>
