No records for item that keeps breaking

Firstly allow me to appreciate the store manager for professional behavior during my numerous visits, however I was assisted by this lady who is so barbaric, even on my last store visit when someone else was assisting me she saw it fit to stick her nose where it didn't belong. In January 2025 I bought a chain which had a pendant , worn it once and it broke without any pulling or hooking to anything, visited the store to request assistance, met the first lady who then advised that seeing that I do not have the receipt she would like to refer the matter to her superior (the store manager) who was not there at the time of my visit and requested that I return later to the store, and I followed the instruction , returned later and I was assisted however I had to e-mail my Banking App notification as proof of purchase, the chain was sent to be fixed. Time went by and got a notification that it was ready for collection and did collect with no hassles. I didn't wear it until one morning when I thought let me doll up , wore the chain, unfortunately before I could leave my house then noticed that the chain is already broken again. Visited the store again and I was advised that these chains are delicate and however it will be sent for fixing, the issue started when I requested to return it after the fixing before I could leave the store as it was no longer happy with all these up and downs for a mere chain that breaks .

The store had no records of my purchase , even thou the cashier could remember assisting me, in less than 6months of a purchase how come the store had no records? As far as I understand record keeping is vital in any merchant. Each time I was told we will call you I was never called. Because of my ill-health at some point I was at the store for over 30minutes checking their files to check for the store receipt as I didn't have the receipt.

I have collected the chain but I cannot even wear it because it might break again. so just that my R1499 went down the drain? is this even ethical?
