Disappointed with the ring

I m very disappointed with American I bought a ring and after four month the gold was was tarnished I brought it back to the store at longbeach mall And I got an answer that I must pay R700 to fix it While it was not my fault because the gold was not genius..so I left the ring there and it is been 3month there and no answer till today…
