I bought my engagement ring from American Swiss in Feb 2021.. Had it 9 months. The blue saffire stone fell out and according to them they can't replace just the stone because I, according to them, must have bumped my ring so it damaged the ring where it is holding the saffire stone. I asked if they can only replace the stone, they said no have to replace whole ring which will cost me R2600!! I paid half of that for the ring!! I never wear my ring to the shower, wash dishes with it, sleep with it, gym with it, I only wear it when we go out! I think I would have noticed if I had bumped it that hard! I will never buy any jewellery from American Swiss again! And I will strongly advice anybody else to not buy from them. This is the second time this happened to me. First time was when I wanted to resize my ring and they came back with a ridiculous quote over R2000, again more than the ring originally cost me. I think THEY damaged my ring the first time when they quoted me to resize it!
