AMEX - The new highway ******s!
Have been buying foreign exchange from AMEX (trough Nedbank). 1) It clearly stated on Nedbank's website that there is no "encashment" fee - when we returned the leftover foreign exchange we have been charged an absorbent "encashment" fee. 2) When we bought the foreign exchange, our account was debited immediately - when we returned the foreign exchange AMEX paid us with a cheque (14 day clearance). We have complained about being double charged and about AMEX not fulfilling their advertised terms, we also complained about them (AMEX) keeping our money for an extra 14 days. The answer from AMEX is most dissatisfactory, it does not resolve any of the problems mentioned, and is typical for an institution that clearly does not have customer satisfaction on their agenda. A bloated organisation with a miserable attitude. Johann Komarek ***
