Postponed festival tickets refund frustration

I am extremely disappointed in the way, this twice postponed, Burbs Festival was managed.

On 13 October 2017, I excitedly purchased two tickets for the Burbs festival , which was initially going to take place on 21 October 2017 at Maynardville, Wynberg, Cape Town.

When we arrived at the venue (Maynardville), on 21 October 2017,there was nothing happening. I received no notification from the management (AME Consulting) - owner Antonio Mullins - or Quicket- from whom the tickets were purchased-. about the the Burbs festival being postponed to Saturday, 25 November 2017.

I went onto the Facebook AME Consulting page and made a comment on a post about what would happen to my tickets. I received no response from that Facebook post.

Then , I once again went to the Maynardville venue on the supposed rescheduled date of Saturday, 25 November 2017. Nothing was happening. I again received no notification from management (AME Consulting) or quicket- about the cancellation of the festival.

I contacted the owner, Antonio Mullins, on the cell number provided on AME Consulting's Facebook page. Antonio told me that he did not know that ticket holders were not informed about the event cancellation.

Antonio Mullins then advised me, telephonically, to make contact with Quicket about my ticket refund. I emailed Quicket and received the following response from Quicket on 29 November 2017: " Quicket serves as the ticket provider for various events and does not get involved with the management of events. We bridge the gap between event organisers and ticket buyers so there is no way to determine how the event will turn out or how it is managed. We do however send out notifications to ticket holders if an event has been cancelled provided that the event organiser has made us aware of this. I'd suggest contacting the event organiser directly regarding your refund. "

Upon receipt of this email from Quicket, I contacted Antonio Mullins again regarding Quicket's response that he should be contacted about the ticket refund as he is the event organiser.

After countless promises from Antonio Mullins to refund me my tickets money, which included me contacting him via email, telephonically and via text messages on several occasions, he eventually refunded my tickets' money on 8 December 2017. However. the refunded amount by AME Consulting was incorrect.

I, once again had to contact Antonio via text messages and telephonically to inform him that I was incorrectly refunded. Even on the Proof of Payment for the refund, the reference was for another festival, which his event company hosts. Antonio Mullins did not respond to my correspondence re: incorrect refund amount.

This has been a most frustrating experience, due to the poor communication, management and organisation of an event, which did not materialise. I still do not have the correct refunded tickets amount, at the day and time of posting this current review.

As a PR Specialist myself, I find it disappointing that owners in this Industry, provide such poor service and bad communication with their clients.

Please advise on how my 2 tickets can be refunded as soon as possible.

Kind regards
