Incompent police officers

I opened a case three weeks ago,had evidence and I personally apprehend the suspect.Officer Dhlamini booked evidence of cell phone and then he said I must bring proof of purchase for it so that I can get the back.All of a sudden sergeant Lunga told me that it's going to be a long process to get my phone back.Since they had to follow the right procedure that came to my surprise because constable Dhlamini didn't inform me about the long process.So please me Peter to get my son's phone back.
