Unable to get a response

I am writing on behalf of my mother, Mrs PB Gibbon who is almost 90 years old, and was sold an Ambledown Gap cover policy a while ago. She has tried to get hold of Ambledown on the email address provided in their website but no response since January. Her frustrations are compounded by the fact that she does not understand the product (not properly explained? Sold by ABSA?) and she is being debited for a premium which she can ill afford if there is no response to claims queries. For further details, Ambledown can contact me (Mrs Gibbon's son) at [Email Removed] to resolve, failing which we will have to follow other avenues to elicit a response.

Hello SilentPartner,

I have determined that your mother's policy is a continuation of your father's staff gap cover policy dating back to at least 2007. The policy was transferred to your mother's name in August 2012.

Gap Cover can loosely be defined as cover for the shortfall in-hospital of charges above medical scheme tariff for medical / surgical procedures by doctors or specialists.

Absa Consultants and Actuaries is indeed the broker and I will pass your details on to them for a more detailed explanation of the product.

Yours faithfully
Johan Tait, Joint Managing Director
