Shocking service and communication.
Disgusting communication- people ignoring my requests- promises on follow ups not done- payment on a claim outside their turnaround time not received- incorrect e mails with strange requests for information- the list continues. Everytime i have had to deal with ambledown the experience has been shocking to say the least- quick to take your premium...my opinion..understaffed and underqualified people working in this company

22 Aug 2022, 09:53Dear Tania B,
I trust that this message will find you well. I apologise for my silence over the last few days. We have been dealing with a sensitive matter and needed further advises before we could comment on a public platform like this.
I update my previous response as follows:
I confirm that your claim is approved as previously communicated. The delay is with claim payment releases done by Constantia. From the operational system it all looked 100% as was confirmed by my colleague(s) and I. We were informed after the fact that the claims release process is delayed. For this we humbly apologise.
Facts on the matter:
Ambledown was recently advised that Constantia Insurance Company Limited has been placed under provisional curatorship. The curator, in the last week has changed the process of releasing payments for claims and unfortunately, this is resulting in a delay of funds being released by the insurer (Constantia Insurance Company Limited).
Ambledown was not made aware of the curator changing the process for the release of funds for the payment of claims. During last week we tried to establish the reason for the delay, when funds would be released and what the new process will be, so that we can properly inform all claimants. We await the curator’s response.
The Curator's role is to protect the interests of all policyholders and preserve Constantia Insurance Company Limited’s business.
Ambledown performs administrative functions on behalf of Constantia. Ambledown is not under curatorship.
At this point in time Ambledown is not able to provide a definite date on when payment will be released to you. We have escalated the matter to the curator and have requested an urgent response. As soon as the curator releases the funds all valid claims waiting for release of payment will be paid.
Ambledown has sourced a new insurer (Guardrisk) at very short notice and this facility will be made available shortly. We urge all policyholders not to panic and go to other insurers. Guardrisk have agreed to take you policy over on the same terms. We will advise you further once all statutory requirements have been met.
Please keep an eye on your emails for further communication on the progress of your claim and new underwriter.
I apologise for the frustrations and inconvenience over the last week or so. Thank you for your understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Makwea
