Disappointed with Ambledown and NMG
We were sold their gap cover by NMG last year November when given the details we were told there will be no waiting periods if our start date is the 1st of January 2020 but when I did put through a claim in April I waited forever with no response and I had to keep calling to check if my claim was being processed only to get told in August that they will not pay my claim as there's a waiting period. I contacted NMG and told me they promised to resolve this matter but until today I have to keep checking with them it's 6months since my claim and I still don't have my money yet I'm being debited every month.

21 Oct 2020, 12:09Dear Ms Sinita S,
Thank you for your review below.
The policy has a general waiting period as per the policy extraction "WAITING PERIOD: Unless due to an Accident (as defined), no benefits shall be payable for the first 3 months from the date of inception."
Your policy incepted 01 January 2020, copy of the policy document distributed on 31 January 2020 and a revised copy on 01 February 2020.
The claim on record relates to treatment received in March 2020 and it was not due to an accident. As per policy conditions, this was still within the Waiting Period and claim was correctly rejected.
I regret that your query was not resolved earlier.
I will investigate further and bring the concern to the attention of the relevant Managers involved.
Feedback will be provided through email on your address we have on record.
I apologise for the delay, inconvenience and frustrations caused.
I am available on *** should you require to engage on the matter further.
Yours Sincerely,
Paul Makwea
