Inept Amazon India

This story is too long to tell all.

Firstly I wanted to order an item by paying with my international Visa card as had no local credit card, and they did not accept two of my cards. I contacted them on customer service, who said I need a local Indoan card - How antiquated! I then had to draw Rs.20'000 to pay via COD. Noticing the size was incorrect, I changed the size online before original item was picked up. I got a call to the gate from Amazon driver requesting the item for pick-up and refund prior to ,e actually receiving the original item. Terrible communication between departments. This actually happened twice but won't bore you further.

Long story short, item which was a gift for my wife, eventually got to me and we decided there was a more desirable item she wanted. I then requested another pickup and refund. They did not have the specific item I now wanted, so requested a a cash refund. I checked on their site, which stated "Items will be refunded in the same format as which the original order made", meaning cash as was my payment. Customer service then says to me "No sorry, payment was made in gift card format so cannot be change"! I tried to explain that I only ever made one purchase and paid once, hence that being my original form of payment right. They don't agree somehow, and refuse to pay as it is an automated system and can't be changed.

Firstly, in this day and age, can a manger not over-ride an item. The whole ordeal was SO frustrating as only could speak to agents with no power other than to read off pages written for them in black and white, and no way to speak to anyone with power that can think in the grey and for themselves to rectify the matter. Their system is obviously to rob people and ***** them out of getting their money back. This is a lot of money I now have to use to purchase something else that I don't really want, and in a hurry, as I leave India in 2 weeks. I will never again use online shopping because of this whole experience. This explanation was only half of the ridiculous problems I went through with them so I'm not being overly dramatic. Amazon India are a bunch of antiquated ******!!!
