Verification doesn’t work apparently it’s just me in Africa

Verification process doesn’t work - the lady tells me I have a poor internet connection. Really just to sell a few products? You have to stand with your ID on a video and get someone half way around the world to see the top y writing? Seems like this is an Amazon problem. Not a ME problem.
