Amazon Webservices "free" account is a ****

I created amazon webservices "free" account, they asked bank account details for verification (of which I wasn't sure what were those verifications for, maybe to verify that you are who you say you are), they deducted about R1 (which was not a problem since it's not a lot of money). Later they sent me an invoice, which raised my concerns to cancel the account, which resulted to over R3k debited on my account for cancellations. 1. Question #1 : Why should I be billed for a "free" account ? 2. Question #2: If the account isn't 100% free, why is it labeled as a "Free" account it's not ? why creation an impression that the account is free? 3. Question #3: Why am I billed for cancellation of a "free" account ?

That's when I realised that Amazon as whole entity is just a ****.
