Account Blocked

I hardly ever take the time to vent but after spending 36 hours attempting to get Amazon.com to reinstate my account to allow me to make an important purchase (it’s very important to me) I now feel the need to do so. Why did they block my account? Neither I nor the helpless members of Amazon support can seem to find out. All I keep getting is the same email requesting that I send my bank statement linked to my credit card as well as my name, phone number and email address registered to my Amazon account to them via Fax… you must be kidding me, a fax. I haven’t seen a fax machine in a very long time. Our company doesn’t even have a normal phone line, let alone a fax machine. We run on modern technology, not outdated and unreliable tech.

So, not being able to get anywhere with the helpless Amazon support people (not their fault), I go in search of a fax machine – I find one, pay to have the fax sent. I call support again and inform them that I have not only emailed the information they have required, but also faxed the documents. What do I get? Just the same email again… send your statement linked to your credit card; your name, phone number and email address linked to the Amazon account… so now I’m stuck in this endless loop that is starting to resemble Ground Hog Day.

I think Amazon needs to do something about their communication and update the method that is used to obtain documents from clients when they feel the need to verify the person’s identity and valid access to the account. If they don’t know how, our small IT company would be more than willing to contract to build a website for them that would allow the clients to upload document that would automatically be linked to a support case. It’s simple and will lead to less frustrations at the client’s end. If not for the fact that Amazon is currently the only place that I’m able to get the items I am needing, I would have cancelled my order and taken my money somewhere else.

I’m an unhappy client stuck in a whirlpool of support confusion.

Reviewer Update

I have been removed from the Whirlpool of Confusion, but still no word on what got me in there in the first place and how to avoid being swept into it again. I still believe that Amazon should invest in improving their communication to the client else they will be losing more clients going forward.
