Alpine Auto in Cape Town, too fast and urge you to sign the finance contract, yet upon signing, ignore you as they take no respobsibility
During August 2017 I travelled to Cape Town on a company business trip. During this visit I viewed a Merc Benz at the dealership Alpine Auto (Cape Town), however the deal did not materialise. During December 2017, your advert on another 2011 Merc Benz, I came back and purchased this vehicle via bank finance.
My wife and I travelled to Cape Town on the 30 December 2017 (flight) to have the car collected. Daniel arranged a pick up for us from the airport to the dealership. Upon signing all the documents, I enquired on receipts of all documents, Daniel advised all will be sent to me. Daniel also confirmed that should any problems be experienced we must please contact him. I advised on the registration process, Daniel advised that the following Tuesday (02 January 2017) when the finance person returns, it will be sent to me, I needed to go to the licence department in Johannesburg perform the functions, obtain the disk and number plates, submit receipts to Alpine Auto who will reimburse me.
We drove to Johannesburg safe and sound.
As I did not receive any documents especially regarding the registration, I called Alpine Auto and advised to please supply the necessary as I was on leave and will be able to complete the process during this period and should the documents be received after 15 January 2018, it would difficult for me to get time off from work as we just would have got back. hence I would need more time and another permit. Alpine Auto agreed, yet upon continuous telephone calls, no documents received.
On the 17 January 2018 after yet another call, Jessica forwarded the registration documents. I advised I'm currently back at work and cannot take time off so soon, i would appreciate another permit as discussed prior. All agreed. Jessica asked for my home address and advised that the permit will be delivered via Post Net either on Friday (19 January 2018) or Saturday (20 January 2018). As the permit had expired on the 19 January 2018, and no new permit received, I again called AA on Saturday (20 January 2018) at 08h30, Shaun took the call and advised that he would get Jessica to call me. No return call from Jessica, at 09h30 I called again spoke to Jessica, I asked for the way bill number so that I could enquire from Post Net, Jessica advised that all the documents are with the bosses and when they get in, she will get it and than advise me the way bill number. She promised to get back to at 10h30. As no return calls, at 11h00 I called, Jessica pretended that she couldn't hear me (hello, hello, I cannot hear you Mr Sing, I will call you back), yet no return call. I called again, no answer, I called again, no answer, I called again, Daniel took the call and advised that he just returned from leave, he will however enquire and revert. After 45 minutes, Daniel called and advised that he just been to Post Net and courier the permit and would receive it either on Sunday morning but the latest Monday morning. I was upset as I cannot use the vehicle and asked to speak to the CEO, Daniel advised that he only comes in Monday to Friday, yet Jessica advised that he would be in after 10h30 on Saturday. I was very upset and called the offices again, Shaun made a laughing stock of me and made me a stupid.
The weekend had pasted, no permit, Monday at 10h00 no permit, very upset I called Daniel, Daniel promised to revert. After one hour, Daniel returned the call and advised it will now be delivered on Tuesday, I tried to explain Daniel first I was promised Friday, than Saturday, than Sunday, than Monday and now Tuesday, what is going on? Daniel's words "Ï cannot do anything hang on I'm transferring you to Jessica. Jessica sent a mail
I requested from Jessica the CEO's email address, I'm yet to receive it
Issues I signed for the car, yet no finance contract as promised, I purchased the car with the understanding on a two year warranty, yet no proof or documents to validate, Cannot use the car, permit expired, Tyres are ok, but different make and types, Damaged on rim, advised Daniel, Too many lies from staff, Very unhelpful and irresponsible staff, Staff does not take clients seriously, Staff help ends upon signing the contract, thereafter none existence, Paying the car repayments and insurance yet the car parked off. No accountability taken by your staff
