Alpha Movers refusing to pay for damaged goods

Alpha Movers submitted a quote to remove my furniture with two other companies. As much as they were expensive I approved their quote cause they offered insurance and boast their ability to protect your furniture to ensure it is not damaged. On the day of the removal the truck driver accidentally drove into a parking shade and my leather couch, leather queen bed, shade net structure were among the things that were damaged. The driver took responsibility and assured me the company insurance will pay for the repairs or replacement of my furniture and pay for the damages. After reporting the matter to Alpha Movers they asked me to submit a report of what happened. I did so and I was then asked to submit three quotes for the repair of the couch. I asked about the other damaged goods and I was told I was lucky they are even considering to repair the couch cause such things are not covered by their insurance. After submitting the three quotes they told me they have approved the cheapest quote but they will only pay 50% of the cost and I will be liable for the other 50%. I do not understand how can this be possible considering when they packed my furniture it was not damaged, it was damaged under their care and now they are refusing to return it in the original state.
