What a disappointment!

We were recommended to Alpe-Edelweiss Guesthouse. After confirming our booking for a three bedroom and two bathroom unit, the full amount was paid 6 months in advance. Upon arriving at Edelweiss we were escourted to the house where we were left outside. When entering the unit it was found to be a one and a half bedroom house, with the half bedroom having no windows or cupboards. The unit also had only one bathroom. Furthermore it was dirty with hair lying around and the dishwashing cloth being filthy. The airconditioning units were extremely noisy. <br> <br> We went back to the owner, informing her that this was not what was agreed upon. Her attitude was basically for us to accept the accomodation or being without a place to stay. No attempt was made to compensate us in some way. <br> <br> We definitely do not recommend Alpe-Edelweiss Guesthouse at Gariep.
