*****ed by ALLlife

I had a cousin of mine insured with ALLlife for 3 years. When she passed and her claim was sent to ALLlife, they said she doesn't qualify for a claim because they did not receive all the documents they needed from her. These documents are blood test, doctor's name. My question is one, why did they continue to debit my account when they knew the application did not have all the required documents to cover someone?

Hi Ntombentsha,

Our sales process is explicit about clients needing to undergo medical tests within three months of commencement of cover for them maintain full death cover they get from inception of policy. Should clients not undergo the prescribed medical tests then their cover gets converted from full death to accidental death only and this is explained explicitly during the sales process as well as in the policy terms and conditions. Our standard business process includes regular telephone calls within the three month period to arrange for the required medical tests with reminders sent to the policyholder both before and after (to reschedule these where policyholder misses his or her appointment) the scheduled tests.

Your complaint has, however, been escalated to the Claims Manager for review so we can verify or establish what actually happened with your cousin's case. We will revert soonest.
