Al**** properties Newcastle

We approached Al**** properties in December 2018 to find us a house with a stove and undercover parking. We were invited to view a house with a stove and undercover parking. Upon viewing the house they found us, I pointed out that it is a wooden house, with extremely high temperatures inside, with alot of dilapidated features and that needs alot of repairs. The agent promised is, the house has air-conditioning, so not to worry and We were told to submit a defects report, and ALL of the broken features, including the leaking roof, will be fixed. It turned out, the stove was out of order and the aircons didn't work. We reported the stove, aircons, broken tiles, damaged walls and loose-pulling wooden panels, and open nails. Our complaint fell on deaf ears. We reported again, and numerous times tnere after. Then the agent from Al**** blocked our numbers on her phone. Then a massive hail storm burst out upon Newcastle. The hail damaged the swimming pool pump and pipes, and destroyed the car port, tiles and covering, along with more tiles, wooden panels and windows. Only after 2 weeks did the landlord eventually got 'authorisation' to fix the roof (part of it) and windows through her insurance. We reminded her the carport has been destroyed and the swimming pool is out of order, when will this be fixed? Both landlord and Al**** have ever since only given is the run around. Blocking our numbers and refusing to answer our calls. Ever since, we have paid full rent for something we have not been getting. No car port, no pool, no stove, no aircon, and an overall dilapidated house that is never treated. I even offered to do the work myself, of only they could provide the material. This request was denied by Al****. We also realised that Al**** hasn't communicated with the landlord regarding all previous complaints. We threatened to leave, where after the landlord went to my wife's work begging her we should stay, she will fix everything. Ever since then, NOTHING happened. Then at the end of October, the landlord didn't pay her municipal bill, (we are on prepaid), resulting in our electricity being cut off for a full day, resulting in massive losses (I work from home selling frozen products). When approached about this, the landlord kept on evading us. Al**** told is their offices will be locked when we dare show up. Ever since, the property kept on dilapidating and we had a second hail storm, with no covering for our vehicles whatsoever. Still, we pay full rent, and no repairs have bee done to any part of the house. Still paying in full, and still no stove, no aircons, no carport, no pool. Two days ago, there is a "for sale" sign in front of the house. Suddenly Al**** calls us, and we MUST make ourselves available tje next day at 3:00pm because they MUST show the house to potential buyers. I said in a friendly way, I will be available after 5:30 because I work, and my wife will be available at 5:30 too. I was then belittled and betrotted by the agent, saying she doesn't work after hours, I must take leave from work to "accomodate" them. The more I say I can't, and my wife can't, the more she becomes personal with me. Then, the landlord shows up at my wife's workplace, and publicly accusing her and me of being nothing but trouble. I have ever since approached the EAAB and the KZN Housing Tribunal for help. But the way we have been belittled and trodden down by Mariette Daniels, Japie Muyburgh, Wilna Muyburgh from Al**** properties, and by the way we have been disrespected and bul**** by Jandri Barnard, the dietician and landlord of the property, is absolutely ********. No one person deserves to be violated and de*****ed in the way these people have violated and de*****ed us.
