Allianz is dishonest and should stop selling what they cannot deliver !

This is a very dishonest group of insurers. I obtained cover as flight insurance with them and missed my flight because the flight I was on was delayed by an hour so i could not get onto my connecting flight. At first they told me only "death" was covered. So to proceed with my journey i paid for another flight out of pocket( so one wonders why you get travel insurance in the first place). At a later stage, I challenged this and after they asked me to fill a claim form which they indicated would be dealt with in two days. After 8days i followed up and only then, did they reply saying my claim had been rejected. The reason was in the words of their email, " there is no coverage for Missed Departure", this is not the case as the response i sent to them is below quoting their own policy ...

For Missed Departure 5. Documentation in support of the cause of the claim, car breakdown report etc. 6. Original receipts in support of the expenses being claimed. If any of the above cannot be provided, please enclose a covering letter explaining the reasons for this. Please note that in order for us to handle your claim as quickly and efficiently as possible, it is necessary that you answer all questions and forward original documents. We suggest that you retain copies for your records. Please ensure you make it clear who you wish any payment to be made out to if not the claimant.

Clearly this insurance is a **** in the making, they sell things they cannot cover , i provided sufficient evidence to support my claim, furthermore not once did they call me . During the whole process I had to call them. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE USE OF THIS SERVICE UNLESS YOU WISH TO BE PREJUDICED!!!!
