You know that feeling when you take out insurance you have to tick all the applicable boxes of how your vehicle will be used, by who, at what times and every tick increases the cost of you monthly insurance. If you have your vehicle insured as a business vehicle - well now, that is the holy grail of easy pickings! I am an estate agent relying completely on my business category insured car to do my job, in a depressed sales market that has only netted 8 pay checks this year! More than a month ago, I was involved in something that could almost not be described as an accident because I swerved out to avoid collision with another vehicle. In doing so, I drove over a pavement damaging the underside of my car - no visible damage to the vehicle at all, just lots of oil and very bad sounds from my left front wheel. Now more than a month later, I am still not closer to getting my vehicle repaired and is met my this line: "He said that they are busy compiling their final report and will by latest tomorrow confirm whether the damages were accident related or caused by a mechanical issue " from the office administrator. 5-weeks later and not even a go-ahead to repair. In a few weeks the repair shops close for the year and then I have lost another month. This after Allegiance Risk having sent the car to 3 different repair shops - obviously looking for the one with the most favourable outcome to not settle any claims. I cannot work without a car. If you can't fix it under my insurance, cancel my insurance but refund me what you have taken from me to "insure" my business vehicle, because I have obviously not enjoined the coverage you promised.
