I would not recommend using this agency as rental agents. From the outset, they added numerous additional fees on top of the advertised rental amount without providing a clear explanation of what these charges were for. Transparency was lacking throughout the process. When it came time to move out, they deducted substantial amounts from our deposit under the guise of "repairs." For example, we were charged approximately R2,000 for labour and paint to repaint a wall, despite the fact that we had already repaired the nail holes using polyfilla and repainted the affected areas with washable paint, as confirmed and approved by the landlord. We were also charged a R500 cleaning fee, which is difficult to justify. Before handing back the unit, we had our domestic helper thoroughly spring-clean the entire property. The agency still retained the keys after we vacated and continued conducting viewings, meaning any dirt or dust introduced afterwards would have been beyond our control. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with how this matter was handled. The deductions from our deposit appear excessive, poorly explained, and made without proper justification. The entire experience felt unfair and lacked transparency. I would advise prospective tenants to carefully review all fees and obtain written clarification before signing any agreement.
