Gateway to Empty Pockets

We took the kids to the Gateway to Space Exhibition, expecting to spend the entire day being entertained and educated. We were sadly disappointed by the lack of proper direction boards to start with, so walked around the Sandton Convention Centre looking for this exhibition. Then walked down a long isle of the history of space travel. No worthy exhibits. We entered to a video of the view of space from the ****pit of a shuttle. This was lovely, but can be seen in a movie. As we walked through the exhibition there were several boards of information that one can read on the internet. There was an exhibit which gave an idea of the feeling inside a space shuttle. Average. And then welcome to a host of 'pay for' activities. R50 and R80 per activity or experience. There was a model of a moon rover - with a video to view. Could not 'experience'the vehicle. The tickets were not cheap. More a Gateway to Empty Pockets.
