Alitalia horrific customer service

<p>We were booked on an Alitalia flight from OR Tambo to Abu Dhabi for 8 August 2015, which eventually turned out to never have been converted into a confirmed booking by Alitalia. This resulted in us waiting at the airport until minutes before departure time before the mess was cleared up by Etihad (the airline contracted for the flight) during which time my family went through huge stress and trauma.</p> <p>On our return I reported the matter to Alitalia in South Africa and despite some initial emails where they seemingly attempted to get information out of their headoffice in Italy but with no success, they eventually just went quite. Despite all my later attempts to get to resolution of what happended, to this day, now more than a year later, I have still no explanation nor apologies or other token of accountability from Alitalia. Neither me or any of my family or acquaintances will ever deal with Alitalia again in future, and I can only hope that this complaint save many others from falling prey to Alitalia’s horrific customer service.</p>
