Alitalia a grade below

On 29 May 2019 my partner and I took an Alitalia flight to Italy and returned on 15 June with Alitalia To cut it short - the plane on the outward bound was in a poor state - seats not reclining properly and worn out - TV screen not functioning properly and food and service atrocious. The flight back was only better because the plane itself was in better condition - a newer plane I think , however the food was really poor quality (cold buns etc) and the service was also poor. I understand subsequently that Alitalia has financial problems and is in effect bankrupt which would probably account for the above described My advice would be to stay away from Alitalia unless their pricing is so low that you have to - but be aware that you should probably try to take your own food onto the plane and that you will not have a comfortable flight!!
