I overpaid & they're refusing to refund me

I have visited the guesthouse together with my friends in October 2015 and we booked the place for few days and when we did our bookings we were all provided with the reference numbers for our rooms and i mistakenly deposited and extra amount which they were aware of and they notified me that they will refund me.<br> <br> Couple of days later when i ask for my money i was told that one of my friends didn't pay for his breakfast/room and they cannot pay me before he settle his bill,but my question is what's that got to do with me?I have overpaid for my room even though we were together we had separate rooms it was not a group booking.<br> <br> I'm told to wait for him to pay his bills then i will get my money,I need to know if this is fair to me?Any advise moving forward please?<br> <br> Regards<br> Annoyed customer
